DIY Wedding Invitations and Stationery

Some brides are completely cut out for DIY (do-it-yourself) projects for their wedding. Our May bride Tiffany Soto is one such bride. I received her beautiful wedding invitation in the mail and was so excited to have them in my hands!  Tiffany incorporated her eggplant and lime green color scheme with fuchsia accents throughout her Alice in Wonderland mad hatter invitation. She designed the invitation with an eggplant pocket fold, response card and envelope, as well as a fun wedding day timeline and a map! Besides being a Master Sake Sommelier, Tiffany also runs a scrapbooking company to help out non crafty types. Scrapped 4 You is the name of her company and she creates scrapbooks as well as place cards/escort cards, and customized wedding guest books. I think she can now add wedding invitations to that list too!

I don't, however, recommend that all brides go the DIY route since it may often cost them more time and money in the long run.

But for those attempting DIY invitations, here are a few DIY tips:

1)  Set aside enough time to design and assemble everything. Don't procrastinate! Designing one invitation might be fun. Assembling 100 becomes tedious after awhile. Be prepared.

2) Recruit your bridal party to help with assembling if needed.

3) Buy extra materials in case you screw things up a few times.

4) Don't take on too many DIY projects.

5) Have fun!
