I could probably talk to both Reverend Andy and Reverend James of
all day. I met them recently and they have such fun and outgoing personalities. I asked them if we could feature their business on our blog because it's such a fun concept. At first glance, one may think that their services are only for the budget conscious couple. But, they shared plenty of stories with me about some couples who really just wanted a fun ceremony and then went on to celebrate with a more lavish wedding dinner or reception!
Check out their interview below to learn a little more about Reverend Andy and James and the Las Vegas Wedding Wagon!
Names: Rev. Adrian "Andy" Gonzalez and Rev. James CassLocation: Las Vegas, NV (mobile business)Company Name:Las Vegas Wedding WagonNumber of Years in Business: 10 monthsWebsite:www.lasvegasweddingwagon.comBlog: We're working on it! =]Facebook:www.facebook.com/LasVegasWeddingWagonTwitter: Don't really use it (but know we should, LOL).
Tell us how you came up with the concept of the Las Vegas Wedding Wagon. The company started with a crazy idea of "marrying" the concepts of a food truck and a wedding chapel. It was actually very surprising for us to realize that no one had done it yet, and if it was going to work anywhere it would be Las Vegas!
Summarize your list of services. We provide officiant and photography services for Legal Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows and Commitment Ceremonies at the location of each couples' choice.
What are some of your hobbies outside of weddings? Rev. Andy is a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoys eating out, trying new restaurants and watching shows like Chopped on Food Network. Rev. James is an inventor, with particular interest in green technologies.
What is the best piece of advice you can offer a couple on their wedding day? Have fun! And don't sweat the small stuff. If something doesn't go to plan, just remember that it will make a great story later!
Describe a typical business day. Each day starts by compiling a list of the day's ceremonies (usually between 4 and 6 each day). We then hit the road, meeting our couples at fun and exciting locations all over Las Vegas for their big day! Returning to the office at night, we then process photos and send personalized galleries to each couple. The next day, we do it all again!
Describe the perfect day off. In a word? Hawaii. Or at least some Hawaiian music while driving around town with no agenda. You'd think we get tired of being behind the wheel, but we get to drive our personal cars so infrequently it feels great sometimes!
Name an exotic location you'd like to visit one day. Anywhere in the South Pacific.
What are 5 things on your bucket list? (1) See above! Visit the South Pacific (2) Visit Germany (specifically, the city of Cologne for it's amazing cathedral) (3) Fly first-class to Australia (4) Spend a full month in a big rented house in Kauai (5) Design and build a totally customized modern pre-fab home off-the-grid
Anything else you’d like to share? Being new to the wedding biz, we've been very surprised (especially in Las Vegas!) by the many heart-warming stories of true love that we've witnessed. Marriage tends to get a bad rap in the press, but we think that's because nobody is talking about all of the amazing couples that tie the knot. From folks that have been together for decades to couples that have divorced, fallen in love again and remarried - it just proves that life is an incredible journey and that marriage still has a very real and special place in society. And with the Wedding Wagon, these marriages can also be fun and totally personal!
