When my initial consultation with Jahana and John turned into a three hour conversation, I knew this was going to be one fun wedding that I had to be a part of! There are so many things I adore about this couple and I admire what a great team them are.
I distinctly remember sitting in the food court at Mandalay Bay with Shanna listening to her talk about how she couldn't wait till the day that Gary proposes. Well, he did and of course she said "YES!".
Typically, the words "Surprise" and "Wedding" do not go together, but this wedding was anything but typical. I received a phone call from a groom explaining how he wanted to surprise his fiance with a wedding. They had planned to have a small wedding consisting of just the bride and groom and their 3 best friends. However, the bride thought their wedding was going to be at a later date. Mission Surprise Wedding started with us meeting at Hard Rock Hotel with the bride and groom. The bride thought they were going to be doing their bridal photos that day. The bride was Chinese and in the Chinese culture they do bridal photos in their wedding dress prior to the wedding, which helped keep the surprise going. We had a suite at the Hard Rock Hotel that the bride and groom got ready in. The bride Yanni thought Green Orchid Events was there to have a consultation with her and discuss services for her "future" wedding date. We had to giggle after the consultation because the way she had described how she wanted her wedding day was exactly the way we had planned it with the groom down to Sparkling Cider in a Champagne Flute because she doesn't drink alcohol.
Once the bride and groom were ready for their "Bridal Photos", photographer Steve Fogarty took them around the Hard Rock Hotel for a photo session. Meanwhile, we were in the suite flipping the space to become a wedding ceremony. Floral, candles, drinks, a wedding cake, the best friends, and an officiant were brought in to complete the ceremony. Once the photo session was completed, the bride and groom headed back to their suite. As they walked into their room, the bride thought they had walked into the wrong room and was hesitant to continue in. Once she realized what was going on she burst into tears and they walked down the aisle. It was one of the sweetest wedding ceremonies I have ever seen. You would think the surprise would end here...oh no! The groom surprised her the next day with a honeymoon to Europe! Talk about romantic!
Feel free to email me with your thoughts and comments! I'd love to hear from you! firstname.lastname@example.org
Green Orchid Events will be heading to sunny San Diego in July to coordinate the wedding of Katie and Luke! Their vintage travel themed wedding will take place at Estancia Hotel in La Jolla, California. The theme fits this adventurous couple perfectly as they have back packed around Europe together.
LaVey and Tyson recently got engaged and reached out to us to assist them with their wedding planning. Angelica and I will be planning their wedding together and we are thrilled! LaVey and Tyson's wedding is going to be anything BUT ordinary.
And you can't see it in these photos, but LaVey has a tattoo of Elvis on her arm. Yup, it was meant to be since I'm a huge Elvis fan too!
We are so looking forward to their wedding this September out in Boulder City! Check out these absolutely gorgeous photos of LaVey and Tyson by Alt F. Makeup done by the bride herself who is one half of Your Beauty Call and hair was done by her partner Janine Cali.
And if I have to choose a favorite...this breathtaking one would be the winner!

Angie and Rob had a chance to take their minds off wedding planning and have fun at their engagement session with John Morris. Angie's smile says it all in these photos and there is no denying that these two are madly in love. Their wedding will take place April 2011 at the wonderful Aliante Station. I look forward to their big day and watching them say "I Do!"
This is Brett and Ryan. And I love the location of their engagement session. Brett grew up dancing at the Historic Boulder Theatre in Boulder City so this place is like a second home to her.
Our lovely Korean couple Eunie and Phillip were married on October 23rd at Historic 5th Street School. Their day was filled with friends and family who traveled from many different places to be a part of their big day. Eunie is actually an Art Director so naturally she designed and created many of the decor elements at her wedding. Their ceremony was very sweet as the classical guitarist played songs by The Beatles and the Ring Bearers walked down the aisle carrying the rings placed on Eunie and Phillip's favorite books. Guests dined on delicious Mexican cuisine and got to create their own fajitas with a skillet placed at each table. I wish Eunie and Phillip many years filled with love, happiness, and slow dances to their favorite songs. Enjoy their beautiful images! Bride and Groom reading letters by each other before the ceremony.
Each table was labeled by a letter instead of a number to represent their grammar school venue.
Paper lanterns swayed above while little flower pots with flower seeds served as the wedding favor.
Eunie and Phillip turned their engagement photos into post cards for each guest to sign.

Kelly and John were in Las Vegas recently for their engagement session with Steve from Fogarty Foto. Kelly is such an easygoing bride and I'm so looking forward to their holiday inspired wedding this December at Red Rock Casino with beautiful flowers from Enchanted Florist.
